The three major signs of recurrent pancreatic cancer are increased pain, jaundice and fluid in the abdomen (ascites).
Recurrent cancer can be treated with palliative surgical or radiation therapy .
• Chemotherapy may produce tumor regression . Treatment options are the same as for Stages II, III and IV—
5-FU , FAM, SMF, 5-FU + leucovorin and PALA + 5-FU. (PALA is an investigational drug that increases the
antitumor activity of 5-FU.)
